As I recall the lower control arms and the bump stops are sold as separate pieces so you have to move the stops from the old LCA to the new LCA.

If the XC70 is missing the steering stops (mounted on the control arm), check the wheel well liner, it is probably chewed up by the tires by now.

PS: My 2005 XC90 2.5T has steering stopper installed inside the steering rack. Photos in forum.

A thread like this without photo is basically useless...

You need to take a few photos and post them here.

The 2004 V70 and XC70 uses the same control arm.
And the control arms has holes drilled for the steering stop.

This photo is from my 2004 V70 FWD when I replaced the axle seal, you can clearly see the steering stop...

Yes I understand your point and know where the stops are placed but my control arms do not have threaded mounting holes foe a stop

My '03 XC 70 doesn't have the stops either.
2003 XC 70 (sold)
