Could you paste the log for the first byte, and also the pin you read with xprog/ioterminal?
second log in my post is the one this pin belongs to so the one the cracker can not read, but the part number is in the script

Did way with the Buck Converter. Tennesy 4.0 100mA, Bosch CF160 80mA. 100 mA + 2 x 80mA = 260mA. Not going to over load any USB port. No terminating resistors. Just the Tennsy 4.0 and two Bosch CF160 CAN transceivers.

The one I have runs off 5V and has a USB port for power input. Use a high current 12 - 5V USB adapter.
Google "Powered USB Hub" and take a look.
At least on the CEM-H the 12V receptacle turns on when the CEM goes into programing mode.
