Mystery part from 2000 V70 Topic is solved

Does anyone know what is this mystery part? I found it, broken, under the front passenger's floor mat of my 2000 V70. It says "Volvo" on it but no part number.

What kind of adhesive could I use to repair this plastic labeled POM? According to Wikipedia, it's difficult to bond. Of course, if the part is still available for purchase, I might just buy another one.

Thanks Azik. After all the decades I've looked at my fuel door, I never noticed the shape of the latch.

Check it has not been removed because the electronic latch does not work. Do you hear the latch whir when you pull the lever?
