A little steering fluid stuck to my accessory belt. I ordered a new one from my dealer. I disassembled the whole steering pump system to access the alternator but the one I had planned to replace (from a 1998 V70 diesel) is not compatible. So I took the opportunity to clean and degrease everything, I reassembled the alternator and power steering pump, reconnected everything and tomorrow I'll put the new belt. I was too tired to finish.
After that, a good wash at Meguiars and on the way to the test drive, then the refueling.
A question, anyway : This part is to be fix under the steering pump, with the screw of the bracket, right ?

Dealing with the steering rack; it froze up solid while I was driving it. Kept it out of the weeds - barely.

Managed to keep it on the pavement during the Excitement.

Well yesterday I finally finished replacement control arms, ball joints and sway bar endlink on the xc90. I will absolutely need an alignment as the wheel is off position and the passenger wheel is visibly toed out. At the end of the jon I was torquing all the bolts according to "googling" and 1 source said to tightened the ballpoint knuckle bolts to 74 ft-lbs. Dont do it!. I snapped a bolt real easy and luckly the old bolts were in perfect shape. I was able to use an ez out to extract the broken piece surprisingly quickly.. I just tightened them by hand after that and called it a day.
