Another mystery part. Help! Topic is solved

After doing the radiator on my 1999 S70 T5, I have this part left over. I searched the part number and found a post where someone else asked the same question, said he'd figured it out but didn't clearly indicate where it goes. I may need a photo.

Apparently this is some sort of air deflector that goes near the top of the radiator near the shroud, but I'm darned if I can figure out where it goes. It looks suspiciously like it should go near the intake snorkel. Here are photos.

Just throw it out, seriously. Supposedly it's designed to prevent water from entering the air intake, but I haven't had mine on since 2008. 200,000+ miles and through thunderstorms, downpours, and snow, no issues at all. I know many others have just tossed it with no ill effects at all.

If anything, it helps a bit more ram air hit the intake. I'm sure it helps a tiny bit, though likely negligible gains.

If you really really want it back, I think the pic below shows the orientation. (captions are not mine and are not relevant)

They check for it right after the they look for the two little trapezoidal rubber pieces under the hood checks

Just don’t try to pass off those -1998 rubbers as correct for your car…
