I might buy an 07 S60 2.5t

Post by c70_lindsay »

Hi all. I am thinking about buying a 2007 S60 2.5t. I currently drive a 99 S70t5 and had a 2000 C70 hpt. It has 125,000 km(not miles) the guy wants $1750. The price is not the issue. I would just like to hear what owners of them have to say. Pro's/Cons things to look out for etc.
As always, thank you in advance for the input!

Test drove a P2 S60 2.5T but unfortunately the car had issues so it was sluggish compared to the 08 C30 T5 and 03 S80 T6. Every time I see a clean one for sale I think about purchasing one as they look great. The back seat leg room makes it useless for passengers and is less then a C30 with only 2 doors. Nice driving otherwise and excellent looking especially with THOR or PEG wheels.

Was it sluggish because it had issues, or was it just sluggish because it was sluggish? I don't expect it to be as quick as my S70 t5. But the older I get the less I drive like a hooligan so I don't really care

Isn't that a rather low price for an 07 ?
Prices I see start at $4K.

I know what you mean about driving slower with age. The car's response was just flat and loudish so it definitely had issues. The 98 S70 T5, 03 S80 T6 and 08 C30 T5 M66 are all pretty quick. An S60 2.5T should also be fairly responsive. 07 is suppose to be a decent year.

07 is a great year for an S60, the one to look for IMO. A 2.5T should be super quick in town and competent on the highway. Vision is not great out the back, the back seat is useless for passengers more a bookshelf as mentioned. Much smaller car than an S70, kind of like a C70 in that way. In terms of driver experience f you can be happy with a C70 then you can likely be happy with an S60. More durable than a C70.

Totally agree with you but not knowing the condition of the one c70_lindsay is looking at I was leery of making that statement.

The great thing about these P2's is that, if you've driven them before, you know what they should feel like. If it doesn't feel right and you're not sure why, move on to the next one.
