You and your family did a great thing for the dog on its last day. I'm sad with you but glad to see a family which loved the dog that much. I'll be thinking of you.

Truly sorry for your family's loss today. Losing a faithful friend after all those years makes for a tough time. My thoughts are with you.

It will be a tough week. My last two start their first professional jobs , one in NYC and one at Williams College. SWMBO goes back to Port Jeff but I’m stuck here with a project next week.

I haven’t been a solo man since 1984.

I’ll still have this one , though… :D

Just picked up a 95 850 wagon N/A, The mileage is 130k and 1 owner. The maint records stopped at 70k so I did the timing belt/ water pump service and the PCV system, put in new plugs wires, cap and rotor. Also added some rear mud flaps. Now to tackle the power drivers seat

finally got my oscilloscope, its a nice sigilent 1104. Planning on scoping out some signals and making a page about how different modules in our pre 99's talk. Looking at adding a digital fuel readout via measuring the voltage signals at the fuel filters. Will use a voltage follower to ensure it does not affect the resistance of the true fuel reading. Since the opamps act as an infinite resistance looking in then it should not affect the other metrics.

I read that new Volvo's no longer have actual oil dipsticks. Oil level all monitored by sensor.
Thanks but no thanks. Some things seem to work best mechanically, like toilets.
Try to learn life's bad lessons vicariously through others.

Lots of manufacturers are doing this now. I agree that it's kind of ridiculous... while it's proven pretty reliable over the years, I prefer to have a virtually failure-proof mechanical method to check my engine's oil.
Probably my least favorite thing about BMWs made after 2006 or so!
