Hi there,
My name is Koen Boertien from the Netherlands and I own a Volvo V70 from 2000 170hp and a V70r FWD manual from 1997.
I am reading these old posts and they are very similar to mine on my 2000 V70. I had from time to time that my car jumped into a mode that isn't really limp mode, but more like it is losing communication with the ETM. Especially when the weather was sunny and the temperature was 23celsius or more after you have parked the car for about 30 minutes to 4 hours depending on the temperature.
2 weeks ago the car started to lose communication on the speedometer and the rpm. It just dropped while still driving. This was shortly followed within a few days later with a stalling engine while driving and when engaging the clutch when above 1500 rpm.
Now the problem is the same as well as the engine stalls when you give it a little throttle. If you step on the throttle, the engine will not stall.
I already checked some codes which stated a lot of communication errors. I also tried to connect it with Dice to Vdash. Nevertheless, Vdash gave an error: could not find the module: ECM.
Tomorrow, I will try connecting it to vida and I hope the ECM is still able to communicate. If not, my ECU is gone. Otherwise it might be an ETM, MAF, Battery or even a fuel pump issue.
Also, how would I clone my old ETM firmware to another one I have lying around (same type and number yellow sticker)
Anyone familiar with this?
