Looking For Pasty Dry-Quick Glue

1. What would be the best way to clue this down?

2. I have been looking for glue that would be pasty and dries quickly.
JB Weld is too hard for general use. I have always needed something
When I say "paste", I mean thick as toothpaste, one can easily spread
thin enough and dries quickly. I have some projects at hand I need
something like that.

I've used this DAP contact cement with success. Use a small brush to cover both pieces, clamp well, wipe off excess with wet sponge. Let set for 24 hours. Before you start, make sure all old glue is removed from the panels.
I spent more $ on the right clamps then on the cement. Others have posted in these forums.

I glued all 4 panels of my 03 S80 T6. There is no good quick way to do this. I had to use clamps and gallons of liquid to press everything together while it dried. If I were to do it again I would give the Surebond a try. Worked excellent in the engine compartment. Use on the flat surfaces and then a large bead around the edges. Hard rubber feel after it dries and won't come apart with heat. Just use 96% alcohol on the mating surfaces to rid of dust and grease if any.

Check out the last video and see the part I had to glue together. The guy only seal the circular port whereas I glue the entire bottom back on and the air box is right above the exhaust manifold.

Contact cement will work well for this task. I tried several things, but contact cement works. It it not a fast job.
Clean the old surface of glue by scraping. Apply the contact cement to both surfaces where you can and let it harden. Plan to use small strips of boards to spread the clamping load on the exposed side of the panel. This will prevent marking the panel. When you have your clamping plan ready, use acetone to reactivate the contact cement and then assemble and clamp quickly. Work in a well ventilated area (outdoors). Both the acetone and contact cement are bad to inhale.

from your photo i see you need to pull the two sections apart, as it will come apart later, clean the green off and glue it with proper glue volvo should have used instead of the spray.

ive done all 4 doors I used regular PVC wood glue, make sure you remove the green stuff. i used a dremel. need to weigh it down and allow to dry for 24hours I tried pulling them apart and its rock solid.

TIP check that no glue has run onto good side before it dries.

PVC wood?

Glue? Brand or a picture of glue used.

The original Green Glue. If a Dremel is required it means it's really stuck on there so no need to removed it. The pressure/press fiber used to make the door carcass will be compromised and dusty if you remove the top surface.

As with all 4 panels on our 03 S80 T6 it was not necessary to remove the old glue as the roughness provides a good mechanical bond between the two surface. Just clean with 96% alcohol as moisture from the 70% alcohol is not a friend to bonding.

If you can cleanly peel the original glue then you must removed it otherwise don't create unnecessary and or potentially compromising work unless the particular glue you used is superior to anything out there.

the brand i used is Selleys but i think its a local product. anyone familiar with wood glues knows PVC dries hard and will stick to anything. it can be messy and takes 24hrs to set so may not suit the "pasty dry quick glue" but all good strong glues take time set.

As an extra step i also painted some clear lacquer on the board to protect it from moisture.
