Hmm I'll have to take the throttlebody off later today and see if maybe I was mistaken about the welds. Too bad i took the time to clean that new one instead of the old oneSveedy wrote: ↑28 Aug 2021, 12:49 The few throttle bodies I have tinkered with had some sort of hard epoxy dabbed on to the throttle plate screws. I assumed that it was done to prevent the very rare case of one of the screws working loose and being ingested into the engine. When I switched plates I used a little loctight instead.

So it was epoxy after all, after some poking and prying i managed to get the old throttlebody disassembled. Ended up using the best parts from both throttlebodies and got the new shaved plate installed and man the throttle response was significantly improved. The car doesnt feel any stronger necessarily but it definitely feels quicker.
