If that takes off, maybe Matthew might consider adding a MVS repository for Volvo 3D print files and DIY control modules source code.

I have started designing my own 3d replacement parts but it's slow going. My ultimate plan in the longrun is to rebuild the dashboard piece by piece.

I've been stockpiling parts for about a year. I'm glad you're working on the dash, ZionXIX, that and a few other large plastic parts are what worries me the most. The belt style 3D printers which are starting to come into use will really helpful for long parts, like body trim.

The 240 guys blazed the trail, but the larger and more complicated plastic parts on the 850's are going to require us to step things up a bit.

The biggest problem I'm having is getting accurate measurements on the dashboard pieces. I have junkyard one that has dissolved through 2 moves. I've tried photogrammatry just to have a general shape but it doesn't work very well at all. Those fancy scanners are thousands of dollars. Im almost ready to dedicate a table and built a gantry apparatus where I can take measurements and plot points in a grid fashion until I have the overall shape modeled. It's gonna be a nightmare.

@toic: agree and disagree (depending on your situation).
I will keep my T5-R as a project car and hopefully soon oldtimer. But I'm getting rid of my s70, as good as sold. Replacing it with a new Kia... Yes I will miss it, but I need a daily driver that I can just put in the shop and have it fixed.
The weather here has been changing a lot the last years, so it is either raining, or unbearably hot. Since I don't have a garage it has become very inconvenient to DIY. This and possible issues with getting parts... were my reasons why.
If I had a garage and space to keep lots of parts then I'd have kept it.

Intersting that you've had trouble finding parts already.
Most things were quite available at my end of town.

Yea if money was no object I could buy one but for now I'll have to do things the hard way. I've seen some diy projects for making your own cmm digitizer arm. This totally doable and I should be able to scale it up for later parts. The faro laser looks like a dream come true.
