It makes perfect sense that while working on the lights you would be drinking light beer. I'm quite confident that I could make that mistake without any beer at all! Thanks for documenting that is an unfortunate possibility.

When my older brother was an apprentice mechanic in a Mercedes dealer in Denmark back in the late 70's/ early 80's they actually had a beer bottle dispenser in the lunchroom! Strangely they eventually decided that was not a good idea............!

Light beer for lights, cold beer for AC, English beer for the heater.

I was in Munich debating open bottle laws about alcohol , and my colleague insisted Germany was very strict on this. A bunch of people walk by with bottles in hand, and I pointed this out,

“ this is not alcohol, this is food”

I might not live in the right place.

Beer can be brewed for nutrition rather then alcohol. That why some beer is called liquid bread.

Drinking beer at work or at least during breakfast and lunch breaks was quite common in Austria till around 2000 when American corporate laws in multinational businesses swapped over to Europe, making an end to a long and weird tradition.

Still, alot of jobs out there seem unbearable to me being sober... I could not imagine painting walls for a living without sending my brain on vacation every morning.

In France we still had a bottle of wine at 1300 with lunch which would make my US HR go nuts.

0900-1300 work
1300-1400 lunch with wine
1400-1742 work

I have a lot of respect for people who can do jobs that are repetitive but yet need to be done with the right amount of attention. I don't even like changing 4 tires at once because of doing the same thing 4 times...

Sounds like you should not be doing Alcohol before a task like that. You should be doing Ritalin.
