Water to clean pistons

Post by mecheng »

I’ve heard about this before, I want to try this being careful to only inject small amounts of water. What is the best vacuum line to pick on.

I saw this as well. Not quite sure how that is achieved on a P80 motor. I think in the video they actually put it directly into the cylinder.

Otherwise I can't think of a way to ensure good distribution into each cylinder. Problem is water is thin so adding to a worn engine it may just run down into the oi before you can run it. Also the chance of hydro lock or valve/piston damage is a possibility.

There is always water injection................!

I thought of a better way, remove the air filter and maf sensor and spray mists of water! That should prevent any hydro lock, we’ll I hope !

I guess so as the engine will run with the MAF disconnected, but the water has to pass through the turbo, intercooler pipe and intercooler and throttle body. It will depend if you can keep the air flow high enough to keep the water in suspension.

Also with the age our cars there could be a fair build up of oil residue in the intercooler. At least the air is not freezing or it could freeze the intercooler!

Good luck!
