Installed the cylinder head, oil pump and axle bearing carrier.
And of course, the obligatory four-foot piece of black iron pipe.

Hard to compete with that!
Awesome job.
My day was a little more sedate. Took a run to one of the local PnP's which for the first time this year has a 99- P80. It was a 99 S70 NA. It came in last weekend, but I don't know if it had already been partly dismantled as it looked like it had been sitting for some time based on the debris on it.
It is either that or the locusts that hit PnP have been through already. We have more and more people going to PnP and they basically strip the cars of anything useful and then go and sell it on E-bay or other sale media. I guess I can be looked as one of them but with 2 different points. I do it to reclaim some hard to find or expensive parts to pass on to other enthusiasts. I try not to damage anything I am not using or are likely to be of use to someone else. What I find is cars that have a lot of stuff vandalised to get to something someone wanted and they don't car how they get it, they just want the fastest way to remove it.
One thing I had hoped to get was the radiator cooling fan surround as mine has been cracked for a long time. It turned out not to be the same as mine which seems to have additional rubber flap covered flaps. Maybe Turbo v's NA? Anyway someone had broken the top mount off it to get the relays off the top of it.
I did get a couple of rear door actuators to replace the failing ones I have and plan to rebuild those with the copper wire fix for the thermoresistors. At least I now have 2 of each side in case I break one trying to repair them. I had also realised I had few if any of the relays for this car and so pulled a set as thankfully only the fuel pump one had been removed (the fuse box cover had been smashed to get that relay out).
I have not been to PnP in a long time but it was obvious about the commercial pullers as they go to all brands of cars and seem to look only for easy stuff to remove for sale. While on the car at least 3 people came by looking at the Volvo before moving onto other cars. I guess everyone has to make a living but for us enthusiasts it makes our hobby much harder and expensive.
Tomorrow will be cleaning my new parts for the stash and checking parts for use on the 'R' trying to fix the electrical issues over the weekend.
Neil.

New to Volvos, picked up my '98 V70 about a month ago. 180k with the dash lit up like Christmas. No service records just the usual used car seller babble. Body very straight and very minimal rust and it ran great. Smooth and quiet just as it should. Paid $500. First replaced timing belt, water pump, tensioner, and idler. Changed serpentine belt as well. Have changed oil and filter and started transmission fluid change. After initial 3 quart trans change and clearing P0705 code yellow arrow and flashing s & w lights gone but soon returned.
Have abs/Trac light on, checked wheel sensors(found all calipers NEW with pads!) All sensors ohm out within range.
Have installed new pnp switch and waiting on abs module to change out this weekend. Have also changed out both cv axles.
Now have about $1500 invested in parts ( my labor is of course free).
Hoping brake/transmission will be properly in order.

Installed my Erie volvo door latch assembly and a door cable from FCP on the xc90. Works like a charm now. The cable is only $15 for new bluebox. Also took the time to swap out the turn signal indicator. It feels so much better and actually works now. My new problem that I hoped the new indicator would fix is the high beams will not stay on unless held in place. Anyone experience this before?
