Ouch.
It’s a huge deal if the hose is after the MAF. IF any air leaks into induction after the MAF, the ECZu doesn’t know about it, so it doesn’t send the right amount of fuel.

It sounds like that was the air *intake* to the air cleaner that was loose. Assuming it is: I'd fix it soon but no, not a real big deal if the air filter gets some hot engine air instead of only cool from the front intake.
I think I'd test the cat before replacing it, the game of throwing darts at possible problems can get expensive.

I would go over all the old rubber hoses before looking at things like plugs. I know you had new Bosch plugs. Did you check the plug gap before fitting them? Are the a single electrode or one of the multi-prong style? Multi-prong if I recall don't work on the turbo engines.

Did I not read that you removed the CAT with little or no difference ? Seems like wasting money to replace it when it doesn't appear to be the problem. This sounds like a air/ vacuum problem to me. Have you had a professional smoke test done ? I had a problem that I just couldn't figure out; smoke test found a crack in my intercooler that caused all sorts of weirdness due to the plastic expanding and contracting and thereby causing different problems at different times.

Smoke test was done. All good except for a small leak in the turbo.
At this point it's either the improvement via changing the MAF and doing a tune up is now showing another weakens in the system or that something in the tune up is not right. Unfortuantely it seems like I need something to fail completely before I know what the culprit is.

And the leak at the turbo was fixed ? Where exactly was it ?

That’s when unmetered leaks will have the most impact and cause poor running
