Manual impact. Take a hammer and chisel give it impacts until you get it to loosen up. You can cut a spot at the end of the slot as a landing for the chisel.

That’s a good strategy. I bet impact would have worked to crack it.

Here is the head of the twisted bolt you are dealing with. Nice side landing cut with Dremel then you can bang on it perpendicular to the steering column

Happy to report this repair is happily Scooting between Port Jefferson and Mineola for a week with no problems. All keys work great. Abby has figured out how to leave me just enough gas on Saturday to get fresh bagels then fill her tank up.

If I leave my fuel tank near empty will you bring me fresh bagels? No place in this town has fresh bagels.
You don't have to fill the tank.

I don't mind bagels, but I'd take the full tank.

Now THAT is a demonstration of Superior Parental skills; Fix the car, fill the tank, and fresh bagels - delivered.
Nicely done, Doctor.

One of my favorites

How much do you charge for bagels ?

2 for a $1

Eagermsn charges 3 for a $1

So buy from Eagerman…

He is out of bagels…

Oh, when I’m out, I also charge 3 for $1

Adding to knowledge base on this one.

How deep you need to go to drill off the head of the security screws?

Answer..the boss is6 mm deep from the head, which is unfortunately 1 mm depressed in the lower half of the lock assembly…
