[S60 2.0T 2006] ECM-400C - oxygen sensor graph analysis

Post by adrian121 »

Hey guys, I need some help with code pulled from VIDA: ECM-400C Three-way catalytic converter efficiency, bank 1, Signal too high.

1. Check engine light poped up, VIDA said ECM-400C. I cleared the code, car ran as usual.
2. After 50 miles it poped up again.
3. Next step: pulled graphs for front and rear oxygen sensor.

My question is, what could possible go wrong here?

It was failed catalytic converter.

Explanation:
Green line (which represents rear oxygen sensor) on chart should be stable (0.6V) when idling and hot motor.

A catalytic converter shouldn't fail. If it does it's mostly because of some error like running too fat mixture etc. Is your engine in good condition?
Great that you solved it 👍
