Seems like nobody here has tried this—we'd love to hear about your experience if you can give it a go!

You have a really clean paint base to do a wrap. Any lumps or bumps will be magnified by the wrap. Any rust will blister the wrap.

I don't know....quality wrapping foil (Oracal or Orafol)is pretty expensive + installation at wrapping shop.
Surface must be perfect and if it's not....it needs preparing just like for respraying.

It pays off when body is in perfect shape and you want to change the color of the car.

But...in case where clearcoat or paint is peeling off...(read damaged)it must be completely removed, primed, sanded and prepared just like for paint job....if you want it to look perfect.

When surface is not prepared correctly, every single imperfection will be more visible after foil installation than it would be visible after paint job.

Plasti-dip would be more appropriate for this application.
