I posted this elsewhere before finding this site!
My v70 cranks but doesn't start. This is a sudden problem, used it yesterday with no issues.
car is a V70 estate registered 2002, though some lookup places say 2003.
There's a check engine light. No codes with a cheap odb2 reader.
I pushed the schrader valve on the fuel rail and no pressure or fuel came out.
I can't hear the fuel pump doing anything, though I never noticed before either so unsure of how loud it is.
I checked the fuse for the fuel pump, and swapped the fog/fuel pump relay under the steering wheel.
The car has a plastic fuel tank. I see a lot of mention of the PEM but from my searching, i don't think there is one, or FPS. Happy to be corrected!
Is there anything else I can check before I call a garage? anything non-fuel?
thank you!

Start with a check of electric power to the pump. You will need to check this while cranking. Lift the rear seat bottom to get access to the pump and wiring. The pump should be under a cover on the left side under the seat. Search this forum for more details how to access and replace pump if needed. It seems rodents like to live on top of the fuel tank and chew up the wires.

thanks, that makes sense. For me I have 2 access panels and pretty sure the pump should be on the right, looking at videos - will have to take the seat off to check that

Just a heads up, you will need a scanner such as vida because doing this, it will set the SRS warning light when you disconnect the seat belt plug with the battery connected.

You won’t get a code removing a rear seat unless it has air bags or seat belt interlock.

SRS should not set a code UNLESS you start the car with the rear SRS disconnected. If you do set code for SRS, it can be reset by Autophix ES610 scanner for under $100 US. I set the SRS code when testing the new pump and reset the code with this scanner.

Quick +1 nod to the ES610, reset my SRS warning after removing my instrument cluster with the battery still powered. Whoops.
It also pulls codes a cheaper scanner won't read on these cars.

Unplug the seatbelt sensor wiring, key on ignition and the SRS will set the warning light, no need to start the engine.
Its difficult to test the fuel pump with the seat out of the car, its going to set the code.
