A 'fun' job I can assure you (Not). Let me know if yo need any advice on that one. I have a thread on here from replacing my sub-frame on the V70R.

It’s easy with basic hand tools like a 1500 ft pound impact, a fourpost lift , and a completely awesome 25 year old tech....

Did mine the other day too. Definitely not as necessary down here in southern New England as they are for you up north, but nice peace of mind.

Here’s why I hate Pt and Ir 50k-100k life plugs

In normal driving habits , that can take 5-10 years to accumulate, which is when this happens. I would much rather replace every 15-30k since the plugs are FReeCP anyway.

Today, I sent out for offers from junk yards to come pick up my 1996 850. I faced a repair bill of upward $1500 to keep it running and I had discovered a fair bit of rust on it that only promised even more work to be done on it.
Before that, also today, I went to check out a 2007 V50 2.0D and decided that it was good enough to bring back home with me :) Compared to the 850 it's super responsive and such a joy to drive.

Rust is the enemy of all cars and with 850's now about 25 years or older it is hard to keep it at bay. About 5 years ago we had to scrap my parents 850 as it also had a lot of rust that I don't often see here. It was rusted in the tailgate, doors, rear fenders and under the rear side windows.

Other than I find the V50 a little tight due to my size, it is a good little car. The diesel (which we don't get on any model) is pretty peppy.

My T5R is testing my patience.
I just replaced the ABS system and deleted Tracs.

Now I go for a drive, and SRS light goes on (first time ever)
Also it is fogging like crazy, so probably needs a new heater core(was already replaced once).

It just keeps on giving.

I'll swap you my V70R! Anytime you think you have had issues with your car, then just remember poor old me and mine! Over $25,000 CDN and more in repairs over 14,000km and 9 years of ownership. I plan to replace the 302mm front caliper brackets but the cost is crazy as they have to come from the US which adds a chunk to the cost.

NAPA sells re-conditioned calipers with reconn'd brackets for around $120 each, but they have none in Canada. They eventually found a set in California. This adds $45 shipping charge to cost. And the kick in the nuts is they have a $70 each core charge! The regular 280mm caliper bracket version is available but only $30 core charge. All that and have to wait 10-14 days to get here.

Good job the car is going into hibernation as they are now forecasting snow next Tuesday.
