General info about Volvo B6324S Short i6 3.2 engine

Post by EyeSix »

Hi everybody,

I'm a bit of an interloper here. I'm a Land Rover Freelander 2 owner! I own a 2008 i6 model. The six cylinder engine is a Volvo unit built in Ford's Bridgend plant (sadly now closed) but tweaked by LR for off-road use.

I'm here because at the moment the engine runs sweetly but with no problems. However I thought I'd get some info just in case.

Main LR dealers don't know what to to with them – and the one Volvo dealer I showed the engine to had never seen one before.

As far as I can work out the same engine features in the XC90, S80, V70, XC60 and XC70 – all from 2011-14.

Question: Is there anybody in the South West London area that can look after this engine/ looks after older Volvo engines?

Thanks for your time!

If you want to see what I did for my S80 3.2 then take a look at this link

And you are correct the LR2 is based on the Volvo P3 platform

I own one of each

2008 LR2 3.2 purchased new

2010 S80 3.2 purchased used

You can post your questions here or on Freel2

Take care
