960/v90 remote programming

Post by CIK7 »

I did not find any answers on this in my search. I want to know if volvo 960/v90 series requires dealer software or if I can program fobs myself. I think Im going to sell my honda with the rare 6sp and get another volvo. I am considering a 740 or 940 besides the 960. The 940 should be easier to get a manual, even if i have to swap out an auto. The 960 would be a pain to get an m90 for it. can the 960 remotes work on a 940?

To reprogram the remotes list:
1. Close hood, trunk, and/or tailgate.
2. Get in the car, all the doors should be closed.
3. Turn the key in the ignition from off to run 5 times quickly. After the 5th time, leave the key in the run position.
4. The security light in the dash should light up.
5. Within 10 seconds, push one of the buttons on the remote. The action should happen/react.
6. If you have additional remotes, push a button on them within 10 seconds.
7. After all remotes have been programmed (4 max), turn the key off.
8. Test the remotes.

Off = POS 0, Run = POS II.

So this will work on the 940 as well?
