My 2000 V70 2.4T is having issues with the 50-42LE transmission, up until last week it was working flawlessly but I am now having an issue that when I am stopped in Drive the car is staying in first gear and I have to use the brakes a lot more as the car is fighting trying to pull off, this also causes a lot of vibration throughout the car and the RPM drops to roughly 6-650RPM. In my head I think this points to a torque converter / lockup solenoid issue but the car is not throwing any codes at all and still drives perfectly once moving, either at motorway speeds or around town. The fluid is recently changed, still red in colour and at the correct level when cold and hot.
The only change I made to the car recently was replacing the brake calipers as the stock ones had seized, could this be ABS related if the bleed wasn't quite perfect?
I am very mechanically minded but this one has me stumped, without it throwing a code I don't want to throw parts at it without having an idea where to start. I am hoping it is not a terminal transmission issue!
I'm only the second owner of the car so I am trying to bring it back to health.
