I tried to get them from a junkyard but each had a bolt or two which was entirely inaccessible, even after removal of the dash, glovebox, knee panel, etc. It was as if I needed to pull the entire giant white duct piece out of the dash to remove those things.
I’ll send you a visual tomorrow ?

Finally had time to check the 'R' Turbo to intercooler pipe clamps to check they were tight. I have a slight oil leak but the dealer checked and there were no oil pipe leaks, but just oil running down and dripping from the bottom of the turbo housing.

I have not checked these since fitting probably around 6 ears ago. Sure enough they were not particularly tight although a devil to get to, particularly the lower one.

As the rubber ages is shrinks so should have checked this a long time ago as these old turbos 'sweat'.

Tomorrow, change the tires to the 'sacrificial' tires as the car will be put away for the winter as the snow is now here and we are forecast to get more over the next few days. Snow is not the trouble but the de-icer solution and salt is!

Eeek, snow. It was close to 80 degrees here today. Loving it!

Injectors came back, so I popped them in and drove the car. Did okay, but then started cutting out under load. P0134 appeared, and sure enough, there was absolutely no signal from the front O2 sensor. Then again, I'm now realizing after replacing it with a junkyard one that this car never shows a signal for the upstream sensor anyway, so who knows if that was right. I think it's pretty obvious though that it was bad, since the amount of fuel that went though to the exhaust was outrageous. One injector was stuck completely open, so it was a LOT.
It's running a little rough now after clearing codes, so I'm thinking now that maybe the cat is a problem. I really don't want to spend the money on an exhaust system for this car, but I'm not going to keep it stock. The small leak from my previous repair is bothering me too, so more reason to replace it all.

Why do think BMWs are unreliable, but Volvos are solid? I mean, this was 100% avoidable, but come on... I have SO many more problems with this car than any of my BMWs.

Considering replacing the aftermarket cat in my car. There were was a visible exhaust leak downstream of the cat a few days back and the previous owner replaced the oem system with a weird dual muffler welded system. Hoping i can patch the hole and replace the cat so the smell isnt as bad. Checked my oil and it seems that a half quart was burned over 6000km or 3728 miles. Ordered a 5L of synthetic for 36 canadian pesos and will keep that in the car going forward. Might need to replace the fluid resovoir for coolant but i can pull that from the crashed car as the one in there was about new.

Current things that need to be tackled:
-headliner
-parking brake might be delaminating
-brake pads soon
-hood replacement (have a spare in storage)
-front fenders replacement (spare in storage)
-interior touchups
-rebuild, or have the alternator rebuilt as bearing is slightly noisy

That seems to be the most of the list. hoping to hit most of the big stuff in spring when i have space to work on things.

I used to think i would have so much more time after school but now i realize it is always busy. Got to make time for the important things as it comes.

The V70R is running beautifully again... turns out the issue was a coil. The flooded cylinder killed it when the injector was stuck open.

I’m still curious as to why the XC90s aren’t included in this recall, considering they have the same airbags as the 3 spoke S60 steering wheels. Then again, I’d rather keep the matching black one that’s in there. Apparently all the replacements are gray, which is incredibly annoying. Especially for the R owners.
