Craigslist is all but obsolete these days. FB is the only way to find cars/parts. Occasionally you'll find stuff on CL or OfferUp, but if it wasn't for FB, I wouldn't have a job.
Volvo Findings! (What have you found on FB/Craiglist/Kijiii/other)?

Yeah, I'd have to see under those covers. I wonder if that SE badge means anything, because T5 SEs are very rare in the US.Sveedy wrote: ↑14 Dec 2021, 09:21 Not too bad, but I'm thinking that the seat cover is hiding something...

SE = Special Edition. My 1998 C70 is a SE but it does not have the SE badge.bmdubya1198 wrote: ↑14 Dec 2021, 09:45 Yeah, I'd have to see under those covers. I wonder if that SE badge means anything, because T5 SEs are very rare in the US.
The AME 1998 SE package is:
1. Two-tone leather interior.
2. Wood trim.
3. SC-901, Dolby Pro Logic, 400 watts of power and 11 high end Dynaudio speakers.
Note: Simulated leather and wood not the real stuff.
So yea, part of the SE package is under the seat covers.

AFAIK it was just the '98 T5 SE and the 2000 GLT SE. There was also a V70XC SE and the standard S70 SE, however the only one to get the "Monza" leather/suede interior was the T5 SE.RickHaleParker wrote: ↑14 Dec 2021, 13:28SE = Special Edition. I put this up for sale back in the spring but decided not to sell it, but this time I’m for sure selling it.
Clean and well running 1990 780 Bertone that I have driven for the past six and a half years. Always serviced at an independent Volvo shop that knows these old cars well.
2.3 liter 4 cylinder turbo (b230ft)
Currently on aftermarket suspension. The rear has BNE IRS coilovers on it and the front has Bilstein B6 struts and IPD lowering springs. Makes for a really fun and sporty ride.
Included with the main wheels are an extra set of nice winter wheels that have Firestone winterforce tires on them.
It’s been a fun and reliable daily that I have enjoyed over the years but it’s time for me to move onto something else. Looking for an enthusiast to buy it.

I've suddenly run across this. CL postings are slim. A car nut friend who scours listings is finding things on FBMP now. He recently found a Peter Faulk '59 Peugeot in our small city...? How did it last that long, and how did it get here?bmdubya1198 wrote: ↑08 Dec 2021, 12:10 Craigslist is all but obsolete these days. FB is the only way to find cars/parts. Does this mean you'd have to join FB to respond to ads? (which would grate me to no end honestly)

I buy and sell cars and parts for a living, so I do quite a bit of that lol. I know you can browse FBMP without an account, but I believe you need an account to be able to respond to listings.BlackBart wrote: ↑15 Dec 2021, 11:39 I've suddenly run across this. FB is the #1 sales platform for cars now, I believe. It's unfortunate, because I do miss CL, but they pushed themselves out of the game when they started charging for listings. Sure, it's a nominal fee, but it deters a LOT of people from listing on there.
