I got the transmission, shifter, clutch pedal, etc. I followed another forum on a guy manual swapping his 98 n/a 850. I ended up taking the TCU out just as he shown. When it came to starting the car, some wires had to be split and rewired, to even get the car to start. Which was shown in the 850 owners forum as well. The idling was rough on first start up. But I wasn’t surprised, it always is on a cold start. On the first test drive, the clutch worked perfectly but I did find out I was in limp mode ( also not surprised). But the next day is when I found out some other bad issues. I soon figured out that the ECU needs to be reprogrammed.
See the issue I’m facing is that my speedometer and rpm gauge doesn’t work, my idling jumps from 900-1,500 rpm’s when idling ( I plugged in a OBDII reader to check my rpm’s) and My ABS and ETS light is shown on my dash. She’s also miss firing
My biggest question is, does anybody reprogram N/A ECU’s??? I think it might being going crazy because it can’t read the auto trans anymore. Ive tried many places but they all only do work on T5’s or R’s. I even got rejected by Hilton. I know I shouldn’t be spending so much time and money in this thing considering it being N/A, but this was practice for me before I get my dream car ( 850R). I guess it wouldn’t be so hard if I knew anyone else who manual swapped a N/A v70.
Another question, would it be possible or even ethical to get a stand-alone ECU for it? Where would I even get a base tune for it? Any tips or suggestions please. I actually miss just driving to the store in my v70.
