There are a bunch of sources of refurbished ETM at the $200 price point coming fro Gang ZHOU

Each seem to have sold tens of units. Many have the late white label showing MSO of Italy or Sweden

Any feedback on these? I don’t like that most every seller has “ XX sold, last one “ 🤥

Question of not only what are you getting, but you also presumably have to then get it programmed. If it won't programmed you are also out on that cost too.

The 'LAST ONE' is a good ruse. Sure some may be real, but most are just a marketing ploy. Same with ratings these days. Many companies delete or exclude bad reviews or have many fake positive reviews. Hard to know who to trust these days.

Recently had our Kia at a 5* rated detailer. They did a totally crap job for $400 CDN. When we went to pick up the car the excuse was 'the dirt is burnt into the paint'. Also the perforations in the back rest of the drivers' seat were plastered with white cleaner (black seats). These are heated and cooled seats and they were made aware of this prior to work being done.

Long story, but they tried to buy my review when I gave them 1* review and a scathing report. While we were there someone else was complaining about the work done on their vehicle. Ever since they have tried to buy a better review by offers of a free detail on another car (Kia is now sold).

I have told them I will not change my review, especially as I cleaned all the dirt that was 'burnt into the paint' in about an hour by hand using mild cutting compound then polish. Seat was cleaned once past was dry with a firm short bristle brush and liquid leather cleaner.

Clearly other complaints were 'fixed' by buying good reviews. Why not just do the work well in the first place??

Neil.

We had info on this previously but I can’t find the thread. I believe you face these options when you done across an early generation Magnetti Marelli throttle body car

Original white label with build date a few months before your car build date
Replacement white label with later build date
Yellow label, post 2006 build from Volvo

Later white label rebuild from Volvo , made in either Sweden or Italy ..contactless?
On edit - Volvo ETM from 2014 white lablelled with VOLVO (not MM) are Hall effect throttle bodies.

The 2014 on white label ETM uses a Hall effect sensor that is contactless. Those are the ones to covet

Always grab these when you find them at the junkyard. These are probably the all-around best option for ETM replacement.
