"Both functions , presence of 12V at relay, and logic enabling cranking, have to be functioning to crank "

I connected (Jumped temporarily) the termminal in engine fuse block (you call it remote starter ??) direct to the start terminal on the starter motor, normally a green wire. Then using key did crank the engine.

Does this mean making that jump connection permanent, with a new dedicated wire, Inside a new small size split loom, will get this system starting, excluding other starting problems of course.

My superficial understanding of complex Volvo systems is slowing me down big time

Without wiring diagrams we can’t really discuss this efficiently. If you jump the remote starter terminal in the white connector to a key position III ( crank position) source of 12V AND the PnP is I working order AND the green wire from PnP to starter solenoid terminal is good, that will work

From what I can tell, the usual connection from key position 50 to the remote start terminal is intact as normal. I say that because, when I temporarily put jump wire from remote start terminal to signal wire spade connect on the starter, hooked up battery, then turning the ignition key did operate the starter ... crank the engine.

Also I again verified, there is no continuity between the remote start terminal and the green wire at starter. PNP switch is less than 2 yrs old, seemed to work right since it was installed. 12V seems present everywhere.

Thanks for your patience .... I've been learning as I go and you all have been golden to tolerate the stumbling

Ok. So it is either the PNP or the wiring from the relay to the starter , through the PNP, where the fault is located.

That bypass will let you start the car in any gear so be careful there

Okay
Now cranks real nice, no start
no gassy smell after much crank n crank, so FI isnt puming fuel in
no ominous dasbboard lights , ETS, SRS

I"m wondering: immobilizer?
Also,
no radiator installed, so coolant light is on
no engine fan relays installed

I"m wondering: immobilizer?. I saw Misha elsewhere another thread about no start , said connect battery but do not turn key on for 2 or 3 minutes .... may reset immobilizer ??
