I just got an e-mail from FCP that the Nissens radiator for the S60 has dropped in price to $120 US which is a great price as the best I have seen it in Canada is around $300 CDN. That seller has free shipping, but I would have to work out the shipping cost to Canada with border charges. The FCP warranty is also useful.
I will have to did out the old steam powered laptop with Vida to check the fitment. In the fitment list is lists it fits a 04 S60 2.5T AWd but then does not show the 05/06 AWD as a fitment option. As there were a lot of changes in 05 to the P2 I will need to be sure. Strangely a lot of the aftermarket suppliers don't even give the AWD as an option in the vehicle type listing.
Neil.

When shipping across border, try to use US Post Office service bc of the > 100-yr old agreement with Canada.
It just goes through like usual mail.
If you use Fedex and UPS, you are asking for headache at the border...

Another choice is to use https://www.rmeuropean.com/shippingterms.aspx...
They are in Denver, CO, but they usually ship from SSF (major importer of Euro car parts) in SFO area, which is closer to Calgary...

Once parts are in Canada it’s cheap to move them from province to province. It’s crossing the border where crazy fees are added

Agreed.
Volvo radiator is $500 CDN wit free shipping to Calgary from Volvo of Toronto. Parts Avatar has the Nissans for $250 + free shipping and the Spectra for $340 with free shipping.
Now waiting to see if they have determined the car's fate!
Neil.

My 2007 S60 2.5T with 115K miles...
Radiator was replaced by P.O. in 2016 (~85K miles).
Brand is Spectra (made in China).
I do not see any sign of leak (yet).
Not bad that it made to 6 yrs.
Since car is going to my kid in college some 600-1000 miles away, I wonder if I should replace the Spectra?

I wouldn’t do a radiator proactively if you have done the cooling group stuff, and changed coolant on the schedule.
Maybe we should have the kid in college help locator thread

Update is the brakes have been fixed, but not the radiator. The repair shop is a small country shop which is down to 1 mechanic and it took a very grumpy mum on the phone to get the brakes sorted so the car was drive-able as they needed the car for their son.
So radiator did not get fixed, but the son is checking everyday for coolant level.
I have offered to help the son who wants to learn to repair his car, to swap the radiator as soon as he has time. He is in Grade12 in High School so an important year. I have warned them that these engines don't like to be over-heated. I have said if they give me a couple of weeks notice I can order the parts and we can get it done as per abscates thread.
I do have a couple of questions on a radiator swap:
1) You will lose a small amount of ATF when you swap the radiator. I think abscate says it is about 100ml or so. Does anyone know if the 06 AWD trans has a dip-stick on it? I will check our XC70, but it is hard to see. I thought the removed that feature and if so, how do you add oil to it?
2) As a matter of course, should we replace the oil cooler line 'O' rings?
3) Is the thermostat easy to swap as it may be worth doing that while in there?
Thanks,
Neil.
