Got it all back together, still no start.

Cranks normally, does not need jumper wire from starter to auto start terminal in main elect box

fuel pump does not run without jumper in place of fuel relay .... 15 to 87, then fuel pump runs fine, produces pressure but no start still. Have new fuel relay for it, no audible fuel pump without jumper..

does this furnish hints ? Aside from I'm in deep doodoo.

No spark seems likely. There is no gasoline smell when cranking and cranking so it seems its not injecting fuel.

headlights light up
horn does not sound

A long shot, but maybe the roll-over valve has jammed shut. Worth checking if fuel is getting passed there. After the accident it may have jolted closed to prevent fuel leakage.

thank you Neil I'll try to find it, have schematics finally
was just cranking and cranking trying to get blue driver code reader to read codes .... did not read any codes BUT for the first time the whole area smells like gas after cranking and cranking....

It showed zero trouble code and no pending codes....

Let’s try a 3 second shot of ether into the MAF Snorkel after the MAF to see if it breathes fire like the dragon.

ayay captain
I installed a 16ga "jumper " wire onto a double male spade connector on the starter signal wire terminal. Turns out is is cranking normally now with only the normal green wire Volvo used. The second one is routed into the engine fuse box near the driver side "tower" connected to nothing. I'll be able to use that to crank it while checking for spark without a helper to turn the key.

Ether is one of the next steps. Blue driver code reader detects no codes.

checked for spark, no spark
with plug out to check that I do smell raw gas so presumably Fuel is being injected

with new fuel pump relay I do now hear the fuel pump running 2 to 3 seconds only. Clearly audible from toward rear where the tank is.

shes either lackin for fuel or fire
I smell fuel when I crank it with a plug out to check for spark. No spark.

So .... does that point to either the crank or the cam position sensor??

the dealer parts descriptions do not make it clear, one or the other for fuel or fire

The ME7 1999-2000 cars are a bit tricky to troubleshoot because they immobilize like this

First start, or clean start history in ECU ( battery disconnected or reset) it will start and run for about a second , then stall. After this, it will just crank. It inhibits both fuel and spark , I believe, with 95% confidence.

Using smell to detect fuel isn’t definitive. There will also be some fuel from the early cranking.

Using ether gives you a known bang juice condition in the cylinder and gives you a more confident diagnosis of good spark presence

DENSO sensors on the 1999-2000 are very reliable and the connectors much better than the -1998. Inspect for corrosion and correct routing of the wires in the OEM clips , which is important.

PLS EXCUSE THE CAPS
THE BATTERY IS DISCONNECTED, NOT EVEN IN CAR. I''M USING JUMPER CABLES TO THE BATTERY CABLES WHILE CRANKING, TESTING:
IT HAS NOT STARTED AT ALL SINCE THE ACCIDENT, NO HINT OF NOTHIN, WILL TRY ETHER INTO THE INTAKE PIPE FEEDING

I SEE WHAT YOU'RE SAYING,
IT HAS 55 PSI FUEL PRESSURE IMMEDIATLY WHEN FUEL PUMP RUNS, NEW FUEL PRESSURE RELAY INSTALLED, PRESSURE DROPS TO UNDER 10 AFTER PUMP SHUTS OFF, 20 /30 SEC LATER

Using ether gives you a known bang juice condition in the cylinder and gives you a more confident diagnosis of good spark presence

TRIED THE USUAL SPARK "TEST", YES WILL TRY ETHER AS BETTER OPTION

THERE IS ONE PLUG I HAVE NOT FIGURED OUT, FRONT OF COMPUTER BOX, RIGHT, IN FRONT ENGINE AREA , EMERGES FOR THE LARGE WIRE GUTER. 5 MALE PRONGS WITH NOWHERE TO GO
