on on page 100 of schematics, motronic 4.3/4.4

there seems to be a wire missing, here I cannot find it on the car feeds muscle to terminal 30 on relay which is 2/11 on the schematic , its a large single terminal for large current it provides the "muscle" current for engine fan, that fan takes some current, on a 30A fuse.

That relay relates direct to engine management thru 2 small wires, input #1 and #2, yellow and yellow/white, signal wires (like the starter signal wire , not delivering muscle, just a stop or go message

if engine management thinkgs there is no cooling fan, disallowing starting might be smart

, the relay is 2/11 on schematic, it gets current from 30A fuse #1 in engine fuse box, , 11A is the that array of large fusses

thank you
I tried to sort that once before
I need to hunt down those schematics, now I have, nearly identical for this

somehow the site stopped recognizing the registerd name Rocket99
So I registered as rocket999
hope that does not muck things up

The engine cooling fan is of interest at the moment
the ME7 schematic is almost identical, from what I see so far
I cannot find the wire that furnishes the "muscle" to run the fan
It should be about 10ga copper no less than 12gA, its on a 30 amp fuse( that is 10 ga in the 120V land) , connected to a beefy terminal 30 on the relay
I suspect that may be related to the no start problem, why let the car start without that cooing fan
the relay does take a "signal" but not the power from the engine control

I found the last lost wire, loom branch, it had been lost in the jungle. plugged it in. Started perfectly instantly as though it was all warmed up and never had any problem.

Thank you all so very much.

Wow! Well done and glad you got there in the end! There would have been a pollution warning for all the blue word smoke coming out of my garage if this had been me!

Neil
thanks for your support and good energy. My first attempt at a volvo repair was dismantling this shattered hood headlights and radiator pack on this car which is far more complex than anything I've worked on before .... its a deep dark jungle under this hood, hundreds of wires tubes and I had zero idea what most of it was. it was an adventure.

Of course finding a V70R parts car was the key and I would never have attempted it without an intact same car ...

Thank again buddy

Yep foggy I made it. For sure I was in a fog. added to the intense concentration of wires and tubes and interrelated components i'm not used to , my meredes all mechanical diesel has maybe 10 wires total under the hood) I was getting treatment for a medical thing and got treatments that causes fatigue and challenges to memory , concentration. I was in a major fog bank.

Thanks for your support, ideas and good wishes....
