Hey guys, I am looking for your help isolating what component I need to replace on my 2004 XC90 with 290k.
Here are the symptoms.
Accelerates normally. When decelerating from 70kms or above it will coast smoothly until we reach approximately 40kms. A vibration with a progressively louder grinding noise and feeling becomes a full on growl. Attempts to accelerate during any stage of the grinding is met with a binding sensation preventing normal acceleration. Now what is interesting is tapping or firmly apply the brakes will cause the grinding to stop as well as the binding and we again able to accelerate normally. Also a turn in either direction would stop the grinding noise but that does not to work any more. So what are your thoughts? Do I need to replace wheel bearing, CV Joint or Angle gear? Let me know what you think.

Loose brake pads..? Binding up until you tap the brakes and straighten them out.
Just a first hunch.
