premium sound system (815 model)

hi all. new problem with the wagon. got a premium sound system for it, but the CD player's scratching my discs. makes a weird sound when it's in. any solutions?

Are you sure there is not a 2nd CD in there? I had that once with a unit I got from Pick and Pull. For some reason the unit allowed 2 to be installed. Otherwise it may have damage to the laser carrier.

If you are stuck PM me and I can loan you a SC-816 and have a look to see if there is anything obvious to your unit.

when i press eject it says NoCD, it played CDs fine for a while but then it gradually started scratching them. makes a weird noise when i load it in, sounds like scraping every maybe split-second

Is the scratching on the disc circular? Can you post a photo?

it sure is. can't attach a photo but it's definitely circular.

Ok it's not an inject/eject surface that's scraping. At least you'll know where to look. I'd pop it out at take a look.

pop it out and take it apart a little to have a peek?

Yes. There are two swivel arms on each side. Pop them out and pull.
