Stick with Bosch bought from a good motor factor for those parts. There is a lot of counterfeit junk out there
For us in the Colonies, the best/cheapest is the second set you need ftom FCP ( lifetime warranty)

What kind of cleaner did you use on your maf?
Does it run better disconnected?
How is your fuel relay?

Fuel relay changed about 4 years ago. I use Normfest electrical contact cleaner for all electrical cleaning. I don't remember running the engine without MAF connected. Can you drive the car much without it or just idle it? Don't really care too much about the start up issue but the fuel economy bothers me. Even on the motorway 5 years back I would 36-39mpg easily but now probably only 30-32mpg. City driving is 17-19mpg. Fuel prices as they are in the UK ~£1.47 per litre, (about 2.50 Canadian dollar) the car might end up in the great scrapyard in the sky soon.

You can drive with it disconnected, the ECU will use a lookup table to inject fuel based on rpm. Fuel economy will drop about 10% and of course it will code. It is not a good diagnostic for a Bad MAF.

Sorry for the delay here.
My fuel economy has been good. City was 10-11 and highways i get around 8 on the best days and average about 9. Its a lot better then my previous vehicle.
I might have a slight head gasket leak i am afraid to say though. Its going to have to wait till summer as its too cold and too busy to even develop a plan of attack.
The coolant tank smelled like my exhaust the other day when the rest of the engine did not. Its odd though as i have noticed no further oil buildup and might pull the plugs to see if any have been cleaned. I have not over heated the engine in my 2 years of ownership so im thinking its a very small leak and may just require replacement of the head gasket at some point.

You would scrap a car because of the mileage??? I wish my car was getting the mileage you're claiming...even if that is UK gallons.tiberious1001 wrote: ↑14 Feb 2022, 04:07 Fuel relay changed about 4 years ago.
