I tried getting the valve stem seals out with some needle nose players as described in a tutorial video I watched, but they wont come out. It just breaks into pieces. I ended up tearing the top of the valve stem seal off I ended up with this:

How do I get it out now?

Also how would I get the rest of the non-broken valve stem seals out?
Edit: It turns out we don't have one. Any other ideas?

Hold it with an ice pick, thread a wood screw in and yank it out.

Wait, you need special pliers in order to take them out.

Also, is there a way to remove the metal that surrounds it?

Yes, those would work.

It looks like your engine was overheating and the seals were cooked and are hard to take out now. Thus, you'll still have hard time removing them those pliers. I recommend rotating them slightly CW/CCW, then wiggle a bit and pull out. Eventually they'll come off.

Not sure, what metal? Metal is a part of a seal?

I thought that the metal on the outside was not part of the seal, so I was trying not to damage it with the plyers. I just figured out it is part of the seal... Much easier now

They make a special pair of pliers for the job. Seal removal tool. You need something like this for any new engine work on any brand, https://www.ebay.com/itm/153390107914?_ ... %3A2563228
