I desperate need for help. 2004 C70 with a soft top. Zero issues to date with this top.
The wife and I went for a ride yesterday since the weather was great. The top opened just as it always has, no issues and a smooth 40 second cycle time. My issue started that evening when I went to close the car up. The top cycled smooth as always and the top interface at the windshield tightened down. The rear dec closed and latched, then the rear glass just stayed put. There was a draw on the electrical system, but nothing happened. I can manually push the top down, but it won’t finish closing, it latches but has a two inch gap. There are no skipped gears or cogs with jumped teeth. When closing the top, manually trying to push the glass down was a bad idea, I cracked both sensors inside, pic included. I have no idea what these are called(also need help with that).
I can hear a clicking in the rear decking/trunk area when pushing the top button on the dash. I have no blown fuses and no clue how to get into the motor area for the top. Going at it from the truck did nothing. We got this used and I have no idea where the hand crank tools are……
I’m pointing to the sensor that broke, the plastic was super brittle. This sensor is on the underside of the opening I’m pointing at. I don’t know what this is called, sorry…. Is it too early to start day drinking?
Does anyone have any advice on where to start troubleshooting this? HELP….

Sorry to hear about your troubles. But this is the 2006+ C70 forum, your car is part of a different forum. Maybe a moderator can move this post to the correct forum.
Not that it helps you, but I have one of each of the two C70 generations and, so far touch wood, tops have worked without problems.
