850 6 CDs charger

Post by manovlov »

Hy Buddies,

One of my disc is blocked in the charger so i can't get the 6 cds cassette out. Does anyone has an idea on "how to" about this issue ? I have also found these o rings but don't know if they have to matter with the cd charger...

May i use silicon grease to keep the stuff in good shape ? (on springs, arms teeth wheels...) ?

Looks like you might be beyond this, but in the past when I had a CD stuck in the head unit, I'd slip a piece of thin cardboard in the CD slot while hitting eject. But I don't know if that's even the issue your having.

Hello Sveedy,

The disc is out without any damage. I still questioning myself about the 2 rings...

Thanks for your help.

Were the o-rings loose inside the CD changer ? They would seem to be out of place. Another member of our little tribe was having problems with a radio with the CD player, and once he got it out og the car and shook it, some coins fell out. Maybe your o-rings are the result of some child's adventure.
I would be careful with any type of grease, it could get places you don't intend. If lubrication seems to be needed, my suggestion would be some silicone spray on a cotton swab; you can be much more precise with placement and quantity of the lube.

The silicone grease is probably fine. I would only apply it where there is/was factory grease, however. Moving parts in electronics do get grease, but cleaning off any old dried original grease may be complicated if not disassembled... which might be more than the OP is up for.

The OP might try joining Audiokarma and asking in the DIY section.

Thanks Guys, i will rebuild my cd charger for the moment and test it.As say earlier, the o rings don't seem to have their place in this "machine". I will tell you if everything works.

100 % okay with the silicon spray and the cotton swab, alos.
