I am an old dinosaur who uses cash and those ancient commercial brick bank supported paper checks. Any way to send a check using good old US Postal Service? Reply by PM if you wish.

Patreon likely allows for recurring contributions. Their goal is to help content creators get paid.
Years ago, there was a platform for micropayments as an alternative to ads on news sites. Or maybe it was just one news site trying it. Searches reveal Blendle and Axate, but those weren't it. I guess it died off.

First monthly payment sent.
Thank you, Matt, for everything you've done, and continue to do, with this website. I would've been lost without the help I've received here, both with parts and with all of the knowledge here.
It's been awhile since I've been on here, and I just saw this thread. I'm not sure what all you're dealing with, other than what I've seen in this thread, but I wish you nothing but the best for both you and your son. You'll both be in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi,matthew1 wrote: ↑22 Feb 2022, 16:05I understand. I'm looking into Amazon Pay as an alternate method. I'll make a post here if I adopt that (while keeping PayPal).

Thanks a bunch, MrAl.
Oh that's great that sounds like a good way to do this. Maybe you can PM me when you find out about this.
In the mean time maybe i could mail a check? I dont usually do that anymore but i could do it one more time while you are looking into the Amazon thing. We used to have a mailbox right across the street but this supid town removed almost all of the mailboxes. I called the Post Office in town and they said they only wanted to keep the boxes that were bolted down to something like a concrete slab in order to stop someone from stealing the mailbox. So mailing things has becomes a little more of a problem but not impossible.
So if you PM me an address i'll send out a check.
Oh i just thought of something else. My bank has what they call "Bill Pay". To use that all i have to do is enter the receivers address info and the amount. They mail out a check made by the bank.
EIther way though i would need an address to send it too. I think you gave me this once before when there was a moderator donation thing going, but not sure if i have that anymore. A quick PM will solve this though, and if you find out about Amazon Pay that would be great too.
Take care for now,
Al
I’ve been driving a Volvo long before anyone ever paid me to drive one.
That's probably because I've been driving one since 2015 and nobody has offered to pay me yet.
1998 v70, non turbo, FWD, base model, on the road from April 2nd, 2015 to July 26, 2023.

Salut Matt, Hy Guys,
To me, Matt, send me a PayPal request about 10 $ and i will be happy to put back the monthly payment from 1rst march.
On your pink board, on the top of the page, you've written " Like everybody, I have to put food on the table for my son and me ".
Any suggestion for my evening meal ?
What about your son, are you both allright ?
I wait for your PP link.

His "subscribing" link in the pink banner takes you straight to what you need for paying with PP. Just did it myself last night.manovlov wrote: ↑23 Feb 2022, 09:31 Salut Matt, Hy Guys,

I haven't configured it, so I'm not sure what the membership tiers are... if they start at $1, or if they start at ___ (write a number) or what. Great idea, FF. Thanks.

Dude, of all people you don't need to subscribe/donate. You've got bills and recovery with your own fight. Cancel after a month (right now) and you'll retain MVS Contributor status, no question.gnalan wrote: ↑23 Feb 2022, 02:37 First monthly payment sent.

My situation with surgery is a likelihood, but not a certainty. Details here. I have good insurance, so that's not an immediate concern, financially.
This subscriber effort is more to be a part of alternate ways to supplement income. If I face surgery, that'll be a different day/reason. I'm happy to put it off forever after reading posts in the Colloid Cyst Survivors FB group. Post-surgery can range from "totally fine after one week, no problems" to "couldn't work again and went on SSI". It's scary.
(Yes, I use FB while at the same time pointing the finger at them for pushing in on Volvo DIY traffic. Maintaining the MVS FB group --sponsored by FCP-- is part of my contract with FCP. They suggested it and I agreed. 'Oh What A Tangled Web We Weave'.)

With all the help I've received from you, and other members here, it's the least I can do to say thank you. I can spare the $5 a month, and it's going to a great cause. If I ever feel like I can't continue with the monthly donation then I'll cancel, but until then I plan on doing what I can.
