Can't figure out this sound.

I have a 98 v70 t5 with an unusual sound coming from the drivers side front wheel area. It's sort of a squeal. It only comes on after about 20-30 mph and is unaffected by breaking or steering. Once it comes on it stays on until I come to a complete stop and won't come back on till I hit 20 or 30 mph. https://photos.app.goo.gl/pXbAmk5JEwvPjFMj6

Stuck brake pad would be my suggestion. Pull caliper apart and check the pads are not glazed by being stuck.

Issues would be:

1) Stuck pad not releasing
2) seized caliper not releasing allowing pad to drag,
3) Stone stuck in caliper
4) check backing plate is not rubbing on the caliper

That's what I'm hoping for. I've gotten some anti seize to help with the bolts on the calipers. I'll take a closer look on Monday.
Also I forgot to mention that it was happening a bit quieter 2 years ago when I got the car but intermittently. Now its a bit louder and happening 90% of the time. I'm still hoping for the issue to be the brakes...

In terms of rotating items at the front on that side you have:

1) Brakes - as stated above. Should add if the brake flexi-hose is the original you might want to look at swapping that as it can collapse internally and leave residual pressure in the caliper causing the pads to not fully retract.

2) Wheel bearing - Turning the wheel left or right will normally cause the noise to increase or decrease as the bearing on that side is loaded and un-loaded.

3) Axle - CV boots if they have split and allowed the bearings to run dry. I would also say it is possible that the reluctor ring could have split but in CA I would think that is less likely due to low use of salt on the roads and rust usually causes that. Could be a small stone stuck in there. Jack up both corners and using the shifter over-ride button to the left of the gear shift (put key in and then depress the over-ride button and move the trans to neutral). Spin the front wheels and see if you can narrow down the area of the noise.

There is one more possibility. One the RH drive axle there is a support bearing due the length of the axle. At this age they are prone to failing, especially in dusty or dry areas.

The bearing is not listed as a separate item but the 850 part is. You may need help to remove and re-fit it.

Thank you! Great info. I'll check these items out. However the sound only happens after 20mph but once it's on it makes the sound all the way to stop. And if I stay under 20 no sound..and no sound change when turning steering wheel left and right so I'm hoping it's not cv joint but the boot is torn..... brakes also seemed a little close if not right on the disc....had to squeeze them a bit to pull off caliper..... however there is a little outer ridge on the disk and brake pads seemed a little shiny.....
I'm definitely a novice mechanic but I had an 850 before and had to tear the engine apart so I'm a little knowledgeable....a little lol

I would look for small stones jammed in somewhere at the front first and work on from there. None of these checks should take more than 30 minutes total.

It was the brakes!! The caliper was dragging!! New pads and some brake cleaner did the trick!! Thank you everybody!!!!
