Headlight Fluid Sprayer

Post by Oka »

My 2001 XC70 has headlight wipers with washer fluid hoses in them. It sprays while wiping. That's very logical.

The XC90, has the pull out contraption that spews out lots of fluid on the headlights, no wipers, which I feel is a waste of washing fluid. With a dried up dirt on the headlights, spraying fluid on them would not make a difference.

Can the function of the spray unit pulling out to spray fluid on the headlights be disabled?

Thanks

You can program it out too if you have VIDA.

IIRC, there should be an option to have 0, 1, or 2 sprays per activation.

Thank you for the info.
Just checked the manual, it is Fuse #15 (2005 XC90). One thing though, it shows as 35A. Tomorrow I'll check what's in the car; I would have thought that that amperage is kinda high. Oh well!

The owner’s manual (PDF) I have is wrong.
The fuse cover show it as fuse #3 (35A) (2005 XC90/V8), so I pulled it out.
Thank you all!

I have a related question re my 2007 S60...

Can this method (removing fuse #3 in the XC90) be applied to P2 V70 S60 cars?
For those with P2 V70 S60 cars, how do you disable HL washer pump?
