My wife was making fun of my YouTube recommendations because all of them were for Volvo repairs and the Aisin AW55-5xx transmission

. There are plenty of videos and guides on these since they were used by other manufacturers.
It's not too complicated either since it is electronically controlled. The fluid going through the valve body needs to be at a certain pressure and it shouldn't leak past any of the fluid circuits in the valve body. If it's not right then it can't engage gears or clutches properly and then they wear out and it's time for a rebuild.

It gets a little more tricky to work with this one because the pan cannot come off with the car in it's natural state. You must either drop down the subframe or raise the transmission.

Subframe drops aren’t to be feared. I did a clutch in the driveway in 10 hours + working slowly. It’s stupid work unworthy of $150 an hour shop rates
