Just saw these upgrade files but I have no idea what they are or what to do with them. Can you explain? Thanks.

Also, I just installed the 2014D repack and it more or less went okay. Thank you very much. I never would have figured out any of that. I'm still trying to figure out the IE11 tab mode but otherwise it seems to work. Still trying to figure out Vida in general. I had one strange problem. It was looking for the file diagnostic.config.xml on my user Desktop. Once I found the file and moved it to the Desktop things worked. So what did I do wrong??

I do not have a Dice or Mongoose yet. I'm sure that will be another adventure. Thanks again. I'm sure I'll be back to ask more.

I'm having some errors pop up. I'm thinking maybe some other files can't be found. For example, when I go to >Create Worklist & Name, I get the error: Unkown Error: javax.xml.soap.Soap Fault Exception: Error Reading XMLStreamReader.

Still feeling around Vida. I can bring up components and disassembly diagrams, so a lot seems to be working.

Hi everyone,
I’m new to the site and I need help installing Vida.
I followed all the steps from ricks tutorial but I get stuck when is time to install the patch. I get the same error command that gearboy got
'%VIDA_HOME%patch\filldb.cmd'.
I deleted the patch run cc cleaner as Rick suggested on his replay the gearboy but I keep getting the same message. Also I get a black page before that message that says skillexe can not recognized some commands.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

skillexe is an artifact from the Windows XP era. Ignore it it does no harm.
The black page is the command line opening and closing
'%VIDA_HOME%patch\filldb.cmd'. is getting a file out of the patch.

So far you have not given notice to anything that is wrong.

It is a hacked version. Some features do not work like Work list. XMLStreamReader is trying connect with a dealers network to create or pull a work list of the dealer's server, which you don't have. The patch closes off connections to dealer networks and Volvo servers so it can run as an isolated island.

VIDA 2014D UX3.exe upgrades the VIDA GUI so that it works better on today's high resolution screens. Just run it and restart.

The IsoView files are newere versions of IsoView . The popup when you first login to VIDA is IsoView 4.0. IsoView renders some of the graphics files. Some people have better luck with a higher version of ISOView other do not. You can always uninstall a higher version of IsoView and reinstall IsoView 4.0 from the VIDA DVD.

Hey Rick
Thanks for the answer, the black screen goes away on its own and after that as soon as the file starts running I get the %VIDA_HOME%patch\filldb.cmd
I keep pressing continue to just check if keeps going but I keeps showing up.
Should I disable Mcfee antivirus?
Would that be causing the problem?
I had deleted cc cleaned and downloading the patch again and I keep getting the same command.
Another thing I notice last night after the Laptop did an upgrade is the message about” Vida can’t start as port 80 is already been used.”
I did open the Vida all in one icon that’s on the desktop but that was before the upgrade so I do t know if that’s the reason I got that message.
I apologized but I’m not that savvy on computers but I’m following all your steps.
Thank you for taking the time to make Vida available to all of us and for taking the time to answer our questions.
Thanks.

Try this:
Click the start menu
Type in Services
Sort by Name
Scroll down to World Wide Web Publishing Service (W3SVC) and disable it

Help keep MVS on the web -> click sponsors' links here on MVS when you buy from them.

Also -> Amazon link
. Click that when you go to buy something on Amazon and MVS gets a cut!

Make sure you type name correctly and try again
