Hello,
Great forum here!
I've done some reading and it seems like updated versions of VIDA aren't available--or are only available to professional association members, or something like that (though that seems like non-compliance with MA's right-to-repair laws).
I have a few questions for the brain trust here:
1. What's available for VIDA etc. that will work with a 2022 XC60? Anything?! Curious about the options at present.
2. With VIDA or whatever is available, what can I do? I'd like to be able to look at fault codes, yes, but ideally I'd like very granular control of settings. In particular, I don't like the idea that the car is constantly connected to the internet (and can be killed remotely!), and I want to shut off all communication with Volvo.
3. I'd also like to greatly restrict communication with Google if possible. I know I can pull the SIM, but that kills everything. Ideally I'd be able to root and install a more trustworthy android build, but I'm not sure such a thing exists.
Curious to hear what you all know about this
VIDA, DiCE for 2022 XC60?

There's a Matthews Volvo discussion board specific to VIDA/DiCE: https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forum ... m.php?f=40
Volvo put an end to the bootleg VIDA versions out there starting with a new online-only VIDA supporting 2015.5+ models. Anything newer, you have to rent VIDA (software) on a subscription basis (as short as 1 weekend), and you have to have a DiCE interface unit that the software recognizes as supported. You don't have to be an authorized dealer to rent VIDA. But, it's pricey, and you'd want to know what it is going to do beforehand.
Your questions will be on many minds going forward: Opt-outs and privacy of operation of your Volvo. Share whatever you can find.

I think VIDA (the program) may be rented for a period of time (as little as one weekend) and a DiCE interface device is required that is compatible with VIDA.
