Just got a 94 850 wagon with 106K on it. Has been running smooth, but the check engine light came on. Checking the codes and it came up with a ton of them:
B2 - 122
A3 - 444, 144
A6 - 241
A7 - 122
It seems I've got a lemon. I don't know. I was hoping some of these I could possibly fix myself before taking to a mechanic, b/c I'm new to Volvos and don't have a good one in town yet (Asheville, NC). The ABS stuff seems pretty tough to fix (overheating rotors).
Any help on any remedies would be super appreciated. I'm kinda freaking out cos I though I gotta deal and it's looking otherwise.
Thanks guys.

You buy a "deal" you'll always have stuff to do...it's part of Volvo ownership but not the end of the rope. Btw, I'm less than 2 hours from you in Knoxville. If you ever get this way, give me a shout.
Here are your codes and what they mean:
B2: 122 Speed has not exceeded 22mph or no speed signal This is normal...you haven't gone 22mph yet!
A3: 144 Brake discs overheated you already figured this one out...could be a stuck rotor
444 No power supply to valves in hydraulic unit...[/b]not sure if this is related to the brakes or not but could be...maybe others will add their remarks...check your fuses in the meantime
A6 (Ignition): 241 EGR system flow too low in system check for leaks on your hoses to and from the EGR valve...or your valve may be bad or clogged
A7 (instrument cluster): 122 Temp. sensor interval too long not sure exactly what this means but it could be the ambient or outside temp sensor that is just dirty or the wires are not getting a good connection...check it out, it's located in the plastic lower engine cover, under the radiator, held on with two 10mm bolts to the sides
Your issues are nothing serious at all, although I would get the brake rotor/pads all checked out and also the hydraulic control...like I said, check your fuses first. Good luck!
Btw, you do know that all of the codes are located here, right?: https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/chat/p ... hp?t=10758

I did find the code explanation finally, but I did needed some explanation, which you went through well. It's good to have a heads up before going into a shop. I just need to find a good one now.
Know of any MIJ? I'd drive (as long as its not hurting my Volvo) for a good mechanic.
But I'll give the fuses a shout. Thanks for the reassurance.
Diggin this site. Thanks for all the help!

If you were to come down here for the weekend, I could help you...otherwise, I know someone in Sweetwater, TN who is really good, but that's another hour past me, going south.

Still looking for a good mechanic in Asheville. Found:
Larry's Performance Werks - Merrimon Ave.
Looks like they do a lot on Volvos. But don't know anything about the price. The ABS light popped on then off, so I am guessing it might be the module?
I don't know, but I'm taking it in the morning. Replaced some fuses and thought that solved the "Check Engine" light problem cos it went off.

yea i saw where victor + gavin rebuild them for around 110-150 plus shipping. Probably go that route.
Any links on how to fix a rattling tailgate? Apparently Volvo makes a kit for this. I don't know where to find. I'd love to just fix this myself. Not a huge deal, just annoying.

Victor won't rebuild a '94 module. The problem likely isn't in the module anyway the '93-'95 versions rarely fail. '96 and on they all fail.
Clear the codes and see which ones - if any - come back.
