pcv delete..?
just a broke volvo owner looking to do something with the pcv so it stops leaking oil for cheap. maybe one of those tiny filters to atmosphere? or is there a way to just unblock the clogged breather?

You can always try to take it apart and clean out any blockages. But old clogged hoses may also be brittle and fall apart on disassembly. Most common blockage is the long hose (goes to the PTC (turbo) or the intake (NA)), then the bottom short hose to the block and the port it mounts on. The oil trap box itself can definitely be cleaned out but it's rarely a problem. The IM gasket can be reused but it usually gets ruined during disassembly unless it was recently put in.
Vent to atmosphere has been tried many times, that can work but is messy (oil fumes in the cabin, oil dripping to the ground).

There is a writeup somewhere using a 3/8 hose to improve the airflow towards the ptc valve.
That hose mod mad a huge difference on my 96R.
I think you should be able to get away with 4 feet of hose, some brake cleaner and a new IM gasket. Other than that, it's just a disassemble, clean, assemble job.

Agreed good post. Make sure the hose is oil rated, e.g. fuel line. Better to not use generic radiator hose.

Cheapest and quickest way, pull dipstick, shove hose over dipstick tube, route under car. You will see vapor and smoke coming out of the hose. Keep the rest of the PCV attached. It will work until you can fix PCV system properly.

Yeah, I did this as a temporary workaround once. see
It worked, but imo you really want some suction action in the crank so I'd fix it as mentioned above. Parts are not that expensive and a bigger hose and a few tweaks will make a big difference.
