1996 Volvo 850 NA axle CV boot advice needed

I will have to re-build the axles due to CV boot failure. They are OE axles as far as the owner knows (doesn't like aftermarket parts).

I have generally used OE boots but they now appear NLA from the dealers. I also like the OEM boots from GKN. I can find outer boots from GKN but not inner. Even outer seem hard to find in this brand.

Are there other brands people can recommend. I won't use EMPI as I found they fall apart as soon as you fit them.

What about Meyle (they do an inner/outer kit). Other brands are WP-GKN Worldpak (Outers only) and Dorman and Rein.

I generally avoid Dorman and Rein rubber parts but if others have had good experience then maybe need to look at them. Seems to be a huge lack of options and availability out there these days.

Does anyone know the GKN inner CV boot part number for a 96 850 NA auto trans axle?

GKN makes good rubber stuff and I suspect they are OEM for Volvo

They were but I can only find a few places with the outer. Volvo are NLA for inner and outers.

Search for that long thread where we discussed using Audi as INNER boot.
the Audi CV Boot (made by GKN) worked fine.
I think I posted in that thread years ago, when I had the 1998 S70 GLT...

Thanks guys. Looking on the GKN-Lobro website, they list a variety of axle dimensions for the boots. Now at least I know there is a possible option at least. I found another website that lists what looks like an axle set, but the description is vague. I will call them on Monday and see if they can clarify as the picture shows an inner and outer, but the description would suggest a pair of outers.

Any thoughts on the Meyle set?

Neil, if it comes down to it I've got NOS GKN axle boots too, probably more than I will use, LMK if you want to discuss.

Abscate's link a great price for NA inners (GKN 300597) and eEuro also has the NA outers (GKN 300427) for $9 each https://eeuroparts.com/product/gkn-loebro/300427. You can also usually find them at AutoHausAZ. However I understand you have import costs to consider too.

AutohausAZ do have them both in stock at good prices. They are who I need to call about the inner/outer combo they show to find out if it is real or just a stock photos of something else.
