S80 2009 - evaporator replacement

Hello all,

I have a 2009 s80 2.5l engine.

AC leaks from the internal evaporator.

Everyone I was talking to said that the entire dash should be disassembled .

Looking into VIDA , seems like evaporator can be replaced without disassemble.

Anyone done this before?

Following the process suggested by VIDA , I need to cut the 2 aluminum hoses. Than what ? How do I weld them to the new evaporator ? or it was only easier to take it out this way...

Any help will be appreciated.

I don’t know the p3 models that well but I doubt you can get to the evaporator without removing the dash. Thst usually isn’t too bad a job, just undoing fasteners and keeping track of things

If it possible , we might save some money.

The great question is why VIDA says it can be done this way.

Well. The evaporator sits in the front end thus can not be removed without taking the dash out.

Question again about Vida.
