Unfortunately my wife got car jacked by some crazy guy and he ended up totaling her car. Unfortunately he walked away and I guess the car did it’s job.

Thankfully she’s okay. I can’t thank this forum enough over the many years helping me keep her on the road. It became so reliable and sorted and life got busy I wasn’t on this forum much lately but I will always remember the excellent camaraderie.

I have extra parts that I’d like to pay it forward for sometime to take in the greater Toronto area.

Front and rear abs sensor
Oil filter Mahle
Air filter
Oil cooler lines and thermostat. Lines are leaking slightly but thermostat is good
Cam seals
Steering rack boot

Hopefully someone can take all the parts free and make good use of them. Thank you

Wow mecheng! So sorry for the loss as I know how much work you put into that car.

Really glad your wife is ok, that of course is the most important part of this. Hopefully the incident does not cause her too much mental anguish. Wish her well from me and I'm sure the Volvo community.

Hopefully in these crazy times you can find an affordable replacement.

If you are like me, you probably wondered if the car is safe relative to new cars. I went to the impound today to get our stuff and I was impressed on how well the cabin fared. The doors opened perfectly. They are truly safe cars.

Looking at your poor car, it reminds me of a 1970 Volvo 145 wagon I had. I was in it when it was hit side on at an angle by a Ford Taurus the Police thought was doing around 80mph. It hit me when I was going the opposite direction at 50 mph. It hit me on the driver's door and ran back and pushed the rear door in and the rear fender which burst the rear tire. I span into a crash barrier but I walked away without a scratch. Car look somewhat similar with the kink in the roof above the doors.

Even the older cars were designed to take a sizable hit. That is why I have mostly driven Volvos for the last 45+ years!

Carjackers and auto thieves should be taken to remote wilderness areas, shot twice in the leg and left for dead.

My dad and I think that in this perverse world of one of us were in the car we’d might be in jail because I would not have let him in the car. He might have been left dangling on the hood.

goodnight sweet prince. The used market was slim pickings at the moment unfortunately. Its nice to see the front impact holds up as well as they do in side impacts. Wish you the best of luck!

Was the car totaled out to insurance already?
