Is that yours? Beautiful car. Those used the air-cooled vw engines in them, didn't they? I know some early Porsche models did.
And I vote yes on the wagon.

OH no. Retired professor friend of mine. Bought that car in 1972. It's been wrecked, it's been three or four different colors, it's been restored.
The Porsche flat four is a derivative / evolution of the VW design, but a different engine. Or the other way around, I'm not sure.... Nope, the VW was late 30's, the Porsche version was late 40's / early 50's.

Here are some from that, summer 2017. If he looks like a happy kid that's because he is. I'm a lucky dad.

It was an awesome trip. I'll never get the year when he was 7 back, so hey why not? I used air miles from 10 years of using my Alaska Air Lines Visa to get the flights. Alaska has sister carriers so we flew them over the pond.
Oliver and I still talk about the fun we had that trip.
#1,2,3 are Seattle where we had a day layover. #4, 5 is Frankfurt where we had a night layover. The rest are Italy. There are a couple from Mount Etna, a famous volcano that is active every few years. We stayed with my (now ex-) US Navy buddy in Aci Trezza, so no hotel costs. You can see a 1000-year-old Norman castle in the background of the shot where he's pointing to the water. We walked to it and through it. Ain't nothin like that in the ol' US of A.
I'll post more Italy in the next few days. I don't want to overwhelm this fine thread.
