2000 V70XC needs struts, in a bit of a hurry. The ones I can get off Amazon (nothing locally!) are rather cheap/inexpensive
Too big a gamble, has anyone tried them?
Thanks
Amazon loaded front struts- gamble too big?

Heehee, is that guy still around giving advice?
Yeah, about what I expected. The ipd nice ones appear to be assembled from scratch and are WAY out, time wise. Still searching

Over the border on Vancouver Island there is Chapman Motors, at Cobble Hill. They part out cars. Not had any bad parts from them.
Essex distibutors again North of the border sell Bilstien shocks and struts. They are in Richmond B.C.
I find that OE parts from some of the dealers in Canada now sell for less than in the US. Try Volvo of Vancouver.
Sorry they are all over the 49th, but hey!
Neil.

Since you have a time crunch, and given the bubbling cauldron the supply chain has become, you may have to settle for what you can get.
Struts aren't a big time job, so facing the prospect of having to repeat the effort shortly is weighed against the cash involved.
I found Sachs struts on Rock Auto a few years back, don't remember the number but they were cheap enough I bought them and they stayed on the shelf until last week; they were naked, though.

Thanks, foggy and scot, I talked to a very friendly rep at ipd after exhausting options. I like their loaded struts- has all the good, proprietary bits and saves a LOT of hassle. I have spring compressors, but meh.
The rep assured me they weren't like 2+ months out; I should have them end of month.
I also split the order so I can replace the blown out right motor mount and other bits.
Appreciate all the input!!!

The 'hurry' part was the variable; a repair of some urgency would need a different approach than the issue of risking mayhem with the dreaded spring compressor. Since ipd is sort of local, shipping time should be shorter than waiting on something from afar. A conversation with a sales rep usually speeds things up a bit, too. Let us know when it's back on its hands and feet.
